2026 review
Gavin Hollowell was a reliever who kept runs off the board but walked a lot of hitters, a 2.45 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 14.2 IP with a 20.3 K% and a 14.1 BB% over 64 BF across 15 games for CHC, with 1 SV and 1 HLD. He was optioned Mar 20 and then shuttled between the majors and the minors on May 7, May 8, Jun 16, Jun 23, Jun 24, Jun 25 and Jun 29, before right shoulder inflammation put him on the 15-day IL on Jul 31. He took a rehab assignment Sep 5, was activated Sep 25 and was optioned again Sep 27, having missed 56 regular-season days. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 566th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 219th of 575 relief pitchers. The TDK LABS card tracked the churn: in May it had him up and back down inside 48 hours, through Aug it had him on the 15-day IL in an early-stage throwing program, and by late Sep it had him activated and working in low-leverage relief. His innings came in bunches, 4.0 IP across 4 games in Jun and 8.2 IP across 9 games in Jul, then just 0.1 IP in 1 game in Sep.
