2026 review
Griffin Jax settled in as a rotation piece, posting an 8 W-10 L record with a 3.53 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 112.1 IP over 34 games for TBR, with a 25.3 K% and a 7.6 BB% over 459 BF and 15 HR allowed. He moved from the bullpen to the rotation, making his first start in the new role Apr 26, going from 0 starts in 11 appearances to 23 starts in 23 appearances. Right elbow discomfort put him on the 15-day IL Aug 9, retroactive to Aug 6, he took a rehab assignment Aug 23, and was activated Sep 2, missing 27 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 177, he finished 302nd of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 125 spots below, and 49th of 236 starting pitchers. His 3.53 ERA ran 0.74 below his 4.27 xERA over 459 BF, and he was sharper after the elbow stint, a 3.05 ERA in 20.2 IP after it against a 3.63 ERA in 91.2 IP before. By early May the TDK LABS card had him stepping into a starting role for the first time in years after the relief experiment had struggled badly.
