2026 review
Hao-Yu Lee broke into Detroit's lineup as a rookie second baseman who grew into an everyday role: he hit .264/.322/.424 with a 23.9 K% and an 8.2 BB% over 364 PA, adding 10 HR, 19 2B and 3 SB over 114 games. He was optioned Mar 9, recalled Apr 17 to open his season, optioned again Jun 2, and recalled Jun 13 for good, with his playing time building from 27 PA in Apr to 100 PA in Sep. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 828, taken in only 16 of 674 drafts, he finished 339th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 207th of 660 hitters, and 25th of 75 second basemen. His .325 wOBA ran 23 points above his .302 xwOBA over 364 PA. The TDK LABS card tracked his emergence: in early May it had little to say beyond a pinch-hit homer drawing notice for possible expanded playing time; by late Jun it pointed to a torrid week with an elite OPS, and by early Jul it noted his first homer coming off the bench; by late Sep the card described him as a rookie who had taken over regular playing time, making steady contact and showing power that had not been expected of him.
