2026 review
Hayden Wesneski came back from a long elbow layoff and looked sharp in a short sample, posting a 3.25 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 61.0 IP over 11 starts, with an 18.7 K% and an 8.1 BB% over 246 BF, 6 W and 2 L. He opened the year on the 15-day IL for recovery from right elbow surgery on Mar 25, was transferred to the 60-day IL on Mar 30, took rehab assignments before returning, and was activated from the 60-day IL on Jul 29, missing 126 regular-season days in the stint. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 519 in just 1 of 674 drafts, he finished 327th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 52nd of 236 starting pitchers. His 3.25 ERA ran 0.56 below his 3.81 xERA over 246 BF. He threw 5.2 IP in Jul, then 27.0 IP in Aug and 28.1 IP in Sep, both over 5 games. The TDK LABS card had him back from a year away by Jul 30, and by mid-Aug and into Sep it was increasingly sold on the sweeper carrying him through the early return.
