Héctor Rodríguez came up in August and showed pop without much patience: a .410 SLG in 144 AB alongside just a 4.6 BB% and a 25.7 K% over 152 PA. He hit .229 in 144 AB with a .270 OBP over 152 PA, going 33-for-144 with 4 2B, 2 3B and 6 HR, 16 R and 17 RBI across 41 games and 38 starts, adding 0 SB, 2 CS, 7 BB and 39 SO. CIN optioned him Mar 6 and recalled him Aug 4, and he played through Sep 27. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1036, he finished 1115th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 391st of 660 hitters, and 47th of 79 right fielders. His .295 wOBA ran 44 points above his .251 xwOBA over 152 PA. In early Aug the TDK LABS card read him as a young prospect with plenty of pop but questions about his swing decisions, and by early Sep it had him riding a hot streak. By late Sep it noted his plate results had held up even as his contact quality trailed them.
