2026 review

Hoby Milner was a lefty reliever who missed bats less than most but rarely walked anyone: a 3.64 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 42.0 IP over 44 games for CHC and SEA, with 1 SV, 7 HLD and 2 BS. Appendicitis sent him to the 15-day IL Jun 27, retroactive to Jun 26; after a rehab assignment Jul 29, CHC designated him for assignment Aug 29 and released him Aug 30, missing 64 regular-season days, then he signed with SEA as a free agent Sep 1. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 502, he finished 644th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 274th of 575 RP. His 7.3 SwStr% over 674 pitches was the 20th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, and his 14.1 K% and 5.6 BB% over 177 BF were the 22nd and 43rd lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. His 3.64 ERA ran 1.45 below his 5.09 xERA over 177 BF, and his best month was a 1.42 ERA in 12.2 IP in Apr against a 6.10 ERA in 10.1 IP in Jun. The TDK LABS card had him grabbing his first save in late Apr in a matchup role, and by early Sep had him back after his release, working low-leverage innings in a bullpen without a settled role.
