His 14.4 Barrel% over 348 BBE was the 16th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, but that 30.5 K% over 574 PA was the 21st highest of the same 267-hitter pool. A left shoulder strain put him on the 10-day IL Aug 18, retroactive to Aug 15, and he was activated Aug 25, missing 10 regular-season days. His best month was Jul at .288 over 73 AB, his worst Sep at .192 over 78 AB, a swing the card noticed too: by early May it had him logging heavy deployment behind the plate, by early Sep it had him back at full workload after the shoulder issue, and by late Sep it had him batting cleanup and hot again in a soft matchup.
