2026 review

Hunter Greene made only 5 starts this year in a season interrupted by right elbow trouble: he posted a 6.83 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 27.2 IP, with a 27.3 K% and 7.4 BB% over 121 BF, striking out 33 and walking 9. He was placed on the 60-day IL Mar 23 for right elbow surgery, took a rehab assignment Jun 18 and Jun 23, and was activated Jul 4; he missed 157 regular-season days across 2 stints, a 101-day stint tied to the surgery and a 56-day stint after he was placed on the 15-day IL Aug 5, retroactive to Aug 2, for right elbow soreness and then transferred to the 60-day IL Aug 11. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 141, he finished 889th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 748 spots below, and 132nd of 236 starting pitchers. His 6.83 ERA ran 2.32 above his 4.51 xERA over 121 BF. By Jul 5 the card read a strong rehab start as a sign of him returning to form. By Jul 26 it noted a rough outing but stuff still grading well with the ERA running above his FIP. By Aug 6 it had him back on the 15-day IL, and by Sep 11 it noted a long recovery window after a second surgery was scheduled.
