2026 review
Jack Leiter was a strikeout arm who couldn't keep the ball in the yard or stay off the injury report: he posted a 5.29 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 80.0 IP over 15 games and 15 GS, with a 23.4 K% and a 9.9 BB% over 355 BF, 14 HR allowed, 3 W and 7 L. A right ankle posterior impingement sent him to the 15-day IL on Jun 21, retroactive to Jun 19, and he was transferred to the 60-day IL on Aug 9 before taking rehab assignments on Aug 13, Aug 20 and Aug 26, missing 100 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 235 in 665 of 674 drafts, he finished 1149th of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 914 spots below, and 189th of 236 starting pitchers. His 5.29 ERA ran 0.43 above his 4.86 xERA over 355 BF. He handled right-handed batters better at .225/.299/.377 over 154 PA than left-handed batters at .278/.363/.489 over 201 PA. His best month was May at a 3.60 ERA in 35.0 IP against a 9.88 ERA in 13.2 IP in Jun. The TDK LABS card was skeptical of him in early May, then by mid-Aug had him rehabbing with a callup dependent on rotation need, and by late Sep still had him recovering.
