2026 review

Jacob López was a rotation arm who missed bats but walked plenty and let the ball fly out of the park: he posted a 5.47 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 123.1 IP for ATH, with a 20.3 K% and a 10.5 BB% over 551 BF, going 7-5 with 23 HR allowed across 24 GS. He was optioned Jun 2 and recalled Jul 7. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 369, he finished 1445th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 1076 spots below, and 218th of 236 starting pitchers. His 5.47 ERA ran 1.82 above his 3.65 xERA over 551 BF. Opposing left-handed hitters managed just .227/.310/.320 over 147 PA against him, while right-handers hit .275/.355/.501 over 404 PA. He was sharpest in Aug at a 2.48 ERA in 29.0 IP and roughest in Sep at an 8.14 ERA in 24.1 IP. In early May the TDK LABS card had him skipping a turn and shifted to relief off a shaky outing; by mid-Jul it had him back as a long reliever after time away; by mid-Sep it described a stretch of stumbles following a red-hot run.
