2026 review

Jake Bauers was a patient, hard-hitting first baseman who turned a fringe draft slot into one of the best seasons on the board: .266/.389/.484 over 578 PA with 26 HR, 93 R, 86 RBI, 11 SB, a 27.0 K% and a 16.3 BB%. His 51.9 HardHit% and 13.9 Barrel% over 324 BBE were the 14th and 22nd highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, and that walk rate was the 6th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1062, he finished 35th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 1027 spots above, and 7th of 65 first basemen. His .381 wOBA ran 10 points above his .371 xwOBA over 578 PA. He hit .307 over 75 AB in May against just .215 over 65 AB in Sep. The TDK LABS card noted in early May that an incumbent's return was cutting into his open runway, then in early Sep had him back and productive after shin splints, before closing the season noting the power had dried up over the recent stretch with the shin splints needing management.
