Jake BennettBOS · SP
2026 review
Jake Bennett was a control-first starter for BOS, the kind who leaned on precise command more than swing-and-miss stuff: a 3.65 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 113.1 IP over 20 games, 19 of them starts, with a 20.0 K% and a 4.6 BB% over 455 BF, going 9-7. He was optioned Mar 9, recalled May 1, optioned again May 8, then recalled Jun 10. Taken in 13 of 674 drafts at NFBC ADP rank 478, he finished 280th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 97th of 811 pitchers and 45th of 236 starters. His 4.6 BB% over 455 BF was the 12th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. Right-handed batters hit him harder, .269/.298/.434 over 342 PA, than left-handed batters did at .175/.241/.175 over 113 PA. His best month was Jul at a 2.20 ERA in 32.2 IP, his worst Sep at a 5.49 ERA in 19.2 IP. The TDK LABS card liked the strong debut in early May but cautioned against reading too much into it, and by late Sep it was calling him an established starter whose season ERA matched his true-talent level, even while flagging recent fatigue.
