2026 review
Jake Irvin was a volume starter whose season got wrecked by a shoulder strain: 22 games and 20 GS for WSN, a 5.48 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 106.2 IP, a 23.4 K% and a 10.2 BB% over 470 BF, with 2 W against 10 L and 20 HR allowed. A right shoulder strain sent him to the 15-day IL on May 24, then the 60-day IL on Jul 10, and after rehab assignments he was activated Jul 30, missing 67 regular-season days in the stint. The ERA barely moved either side of it, 5.23 in 51.2 IP before and 5.73 in 55.0 IP after. The TDK LABS card had him in a do-not-start tier by May 8, and by Jun 2 it had him shut down with no clear return path while the contact was already piling up before the injury; by Sep 26 it had him shifted to a piggyback role with capped innings. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1151, he finished 1303rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 784th of 811 pitchers, and 213th of 236 pitchers at SP.
