2026 review

Jake Meyers was a glove-first center fielder whose bat never got going: he hit .213/.268/.326 with a 20.3 K% and a 6.5 BB% over 153 PA for HOU, adding 3 HR and 1 SB across 57 games. A grade 2 right oblique strain put him on the 10-day IL Apr 10 retroactive to Apr 9, and after a rehab assignment May 12 he was activated May 19, missing 44 regular-season days across 2 stints; he was optioned and recalled repeatedly after that, on Jul 4, Aug 7, Aug 11, Sep 1 and Sep 7, before going on the 60-day IL Sep 23 with no activation on record through Sep 27. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 442, he finished 1197th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 755 spots below, and 51st of 70 center fielders. The TDK LABS card tracked the arc: resuming swinging in early May after the oblique strain, back but quiet in a part-time role by mid-Jun, then recalled for outfield depth in early Aug, and by late Sep sidelined for the season.
