His year ran cold in the middle and hot late, a .170 mark in 88 AB in Jun against a .342 mark in 79 AB in Sep. The TDK LABS card had him in May as Miami's leadoff table-setter making contact and stealing bases, and by mid-Sep was describing a hot stretch with real contact after a slower start, with an emerging power-speed combination showing in his everyday at bats by late Sep.
