2026 review

Jarred Kelenic spent the year bouncing between organizations and never got the bat going in his short looks. He hit .219/.313/.288 with a 37.3 K% and a 12.0 BB% over 83 PA across 36 games and 21 starts, with 1 HR, 5 R and 6 RBI. After signing a minor league contract with CHW on Jan 2, he had his contract selected Apr 29, was designated for assignment May 25 and outrighted May 30, then signed with TEX on Jun 2 and was selected Jun 19, designated for assignment Jun 29 and outrighted Jul 1, signed again Jul 3 and Jul 29, was selected once more Aug 11, and was designated for assignment Aug 23 and outrighted Aug 25 before signing a minor league contract with NYY on Aug 28. The playing time came in bunches, 2 PA in Apr, 57 PA over 18 games in May, 10 PA in Jun and 14 PA in Aug. Taken in only 38 of 674 NFBC drafts at ADP rank 919, he finished 1309th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 523rd of 660 hitters and 67th of 79 right fielders. In early May the TDK LABS card had him claiming the bigger share of starts in a crowded CHW outfield; by late Jun it had him as a spot-role call-up on a new team, and by late Aug it read his contact as a real step down after another short stint ended.
