2026 review

Jase Bowen was a defensive-minded outfielder whose bat never showed up: across 83 games and 22 starts he hit .146 in 96 AB with a .188 OBP, a 39.8 K% and a 2.9 BB% over 103 PA, adding 2 HR, 6 SB and 14 R. SDP selected his contract Jun 2, and his playing time thinned as the year went on, from 35 PA in Jun to 28 in Jul, 21 in Aug and 19 in Sep. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1227th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 64th of 93 left fielders. His .196 wOBA ran 48 points below his .244 xwOBA over 103 PA. The TDK LABS card tracked the fade: called up in early Jun to patch outfield coverage, down to spot starts by mid Aug, seen as little more than an occasional bat off the bench without much power by early Sep, and by late Sep buried deep on the bench with dire production, though it noted the contact metrics suggested some skill under the usage.
