2026 review
Jason Alexander was up-and-down organizational pitching depth this year, called on and sent back almost as fast as he arrived: across 4 games and 2 GS he put up a 9.33 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 18.1 IP, with a 16.7 K% and a 9.5 BB% over 84 BF, allowing 4 HR along the way. He shuttled between HOU and the minors all spring, optioned Mar 8, recalled Apr 30, optioned May 1, recalled May 5, optioned May 7, recalled May 18, then optioned again May 27 before being designated for assignment Sep 24 and outrighted Sep 27. Taken in just 27 of 674 drafts, a rare pick, he finished 1039th of 1472 overall and 685th of 811 pitchers, 167th of 236 at SP. The TDK LABS card tracked the churn as it happened: by May 8 it had his tenure lasting one day before an early blowup, by May 19 it had him as non-fantasy long-man depth, and by late May and early Jun it had him optioned out after a rough stretch with Houston already running a full rotation without him.
