A right thumb sprain landed him on the 10-day IL on Sep 10, retroactive to Sep 9, and he was activated Sep 22 after missing 13 regular-season days, which held him to 32 PA in 8 games that month. By mid-Sep the TDK LABS card had him shelved with the thumb; by late Sep it had him back in the lineup with the speed intact and the contact still cold.
