2026 review

Jhoan Duran was a shutdown closer who missed almost nobody's barrel and almost nobody's zone: he posted a 1.82 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 59.1 IP over 61 games for PHI, with 33 SV, 2 BS, 84 SO and 10 BB. His 35.6 K% and 4.2 BB% over 236 BF were the 10th highest and 5th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, and his 17.4 SwStr% over 948 pitches was the 5th highest of that same group. A left oblique strain put him on the 15-day IL on Apr 18, retroactive to Apr 15, and he was activated May 5 after missing 20 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 36, he finished 99th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 63 spots below, and 8th of 575 relievers. By late Aug the TDK LABS card was treating him as a dominant closer running a steady bullpen; by late Sep it was still pointing to his strikeout and control numbers as being among the best at his role.
