Jimmy HergetCOL · RP
2026 review
Jimmy Herget was a middle reliever whose control held up but whose results did not: he posted a 5.70 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 53.2 IP for COL, with a 19.8 K% and an 11.0 BB% over 237 BF across 51 games and 3 starts. His year came with interruptions off the field, paternity and bereavement list stints in Apr and May, before a right shoulder impingement sent him to the 15-day IL on May 13; he took a rehab assignment Jun 9 and was activated Jun 17 after missing 35 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 951, taken in just 50 of 674 drafts, he finished 1161st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 553rd of 575 relief pitchers. His 5.70 ERA ran 1.19 above his 4.51 xERA over 237 BF. Right-handed hitters managed .284/.325/.448 against him over 126 PA, left-handed hitters .267/.400/.547 over 112 PA. His ERA sat at 5.06 in 16.0 IP before the IL stint and 5.97 in 37.2 IP after. The TDK LABS card read him as a possible save path in early May, called him a committee closer by Jul 21, had him sliding into low-leverage work by Aug 7, and by Sep 26 settled on him as middle relief with solid control but little leverage.
