Joe RyanMIN · SP
2026 review
Joe Ryan was a control artist among starters, missing far fewer bats than walks: he posted a 3.79 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over 144.2 IP for MIN across 27 starts, a 25.9 K% and 5.0 BB% over 614 BF, with 7 W and 10 L. His 5.0 BB% over 614 BF was the 24th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. A left glute strain put him on the 15-day IL Aug 7 (retroactive to Aug 5), he took a rehab assignment Sep 1, and he was activated Sep 7 after missing 33 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 64 in every one of 674 drafts, he finished 324th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 260 spots below his ADP rank, and 51st of 236 SP. He was sharper before the injured-list stint, a 3.65 ERA in 125.2 IP, than after it, a 4.74 ERA in 19.0 IP, and his best month was May at a 1.73 ERA in 26.0 IP against a 5.48 ERA in 23.0 IP in Jul. By late Jun the TDK LABS card noted a clean MRI confirming health, but by Aug it flagged recent arm fatigue while still calling the stuff intact; by late Sep it had his curveball grip carrying him through a heavier workload.
