Jonah TongNYM · SP

2026 review

Jonah Tong was a rookie arm who moved from the bullpen into the rotation and turned in a 3.82 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 30.2 IP for NYM, striking out 34 against 14 walks for a 25.4 K% and a 10.4 BB% over 134 BF across 7 games. He was optioned Mar 10, recalled May 22, optioned again Jun 3, and recalled for good Sep 7, with his first game May 22 and last Sep 26. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 391, he finished 518th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 127 spots below, and 79th of 236 starting pitchers. Once he shifted into starting on Sep 7 the results loosened a bit, a 3.92 ERA in 20.2 IP as a starter after a 3.60 ERA in 10.0 IP as a reliever, while his 3.82 ERA ran 0.69 above his 3.13 xERA over 134 BF. The TDK LABS card tracked the swing: a top-prospect arm lined up for the rotation in late May, praised for elite stuff early in his starts by late Sep, then flagged days later for command volatility through a rough stretch.
