2026 review
Jordan Romano's stuff played, but the results this year did not follow: he posted a 5.61 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 33.2 IP over 38 games for LAA and COL, with a 25.5 K% and a 12.4 BB% over 153 BF, and 15 SV against 5 BS. LAA designated him for assignment on Apr 26 and released him Apr 27; he signed a minor league contract with COL on May 6 and had his contract selected Jul 4. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1155, taken in 397 of 674 drafts, he finished 640th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 515 spots above, and 271st of 575 relief pitchers. His 5.61 ERA ran 1.98 above his 3.63 xERA over 153 BF, even though his 31.4 CSW% over 644 pitches was the 34th highest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. The TDK LABS card traced a bumpy path: fresh off a Triple-A selection in early Jul, part of a rotating committee with a claim on the closer role by late Jul, closing through a blown save with underlying metrics it called clean by early Sep, and by late Sep still entrusted with high-leverage work but with declining velocity and eroded trust after more blown saves.
