Jorge BarrosaARI · HOU · OF

2026 review

Jorge Barrosa was a fringe outfielder who scuffled at the plate but bounced through roster churn between organizations: he hit .193/.285/.331 with a 26.4 K% and a 9.8 BB% over 174 PA across 105 games, with 12 2B and 2 HR for ARI and HOU. ARI designated him for assignment Sep 4, HOU claimed him off waivers Sep 6, HOU designated him again Sep 19, outrighted him Sep 22, then selected his contract Sep 24; he moved from Arizona to Houston, last appearing for ARI Sep 2 and first for HOU Sep 9. Drafted in just 2 of 674 drafts at ADP rank 605, he finished 1123rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 46th of 70 center fielders. His .277 wOBA ran 39 points above his .238 xwOBA over 174 PA. He started 30 of 59 games in Mar-Jun but just 7 of 46 in Jul-Sep. The TDK LABS card had him in early May as a pure platoon fill-in playing center only against lefty starters, by early Sep noted the designation for assignment, by mid-Sep had him activated as depth after the waiver claim, and by late Sep described him as outfield depth added with the Astros' crowded depth chart limiting his role.
