2026 review

Justin Bruihl was a lefty reliever who got outs without missing many bats: he posted a 3.71 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 77.2 IP across 73 games for STL, with a 15.3 K% and 8.1 BB% over 346 BF, striking out 53 and walking 28. His 7.3 SwStr% over 1317 pitches was the 23rd lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, and his 15.3 K% over 346 BF was the 39th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. He was traded to STL on Jan 6. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 884th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 436th of 575 relief pitchers. His 3.71 ERA ran 0.77 below his 4.48 xERA over 346 BF, and he was best in Jun at a 1.64 ERA in 11.0 IP against a 5.56 ERA in 11.1 IP in Sep. The TDK LABS card read him in early Jun as STL's lefty depth with no hold or save path, by late Aug had him pitching only in lower-leverage spots against certain matchups, and by late Sep flagged fatigue from heavy multi-inning usage in short spans.
