2026 review

Justin Martínez was a power reliever for ARI who missed almost the whole season recovering from right ulnar collateral ligament surgery, then made an immediate impact once activated: 15 games with a 2.02 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 13.1 IP, a 32.7 K% and an 18.2 BB% over 55 BF, 18 strikeouts and 10 walks, with 3 W, 2 HLD and 1 L. He was placed on the 60-day IL on Feb 14 for recovery from right ulnar collateral ligament surgery, took rehab assignments Aug 4 and Aug 11, and was activated Aug 17 after missing 145 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 832, he finished 388th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 160th of 811 pitchers, and 101st of 575 relievers. The TDK LABS card tracked the return closely: activated after a lengthy recovery in mid-Aug, then a non-save outing that reflected strong form by Sep 6, and by Sep 25 the card had him pitching as Arizona's recognized closer, throwing hard and missing bats at a high rate.
