2026 review

Kerry Carpenter was a power bat who could not stay on the field: he hit .208/.276/.416 with a 29.0 K% and a 6.9 BB% over 259 PA for DET, adding 13 HR across 81 games and 64 starts. A left AC joint sprain sent him to the 10-day IL on May 10; he took a rehab assignment May 29 and was activated May 31. A left foot plantar fasciitis then sent him back to the 10-day IL on Jul 27, and he was transferred to the 60-day IL on Sep 26, missing 83 regular-season days across 2 stints on the year. He hit .216 over 102 AB before the first stint and .202 over 129 AB after he came back. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 224, he finished 780th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 556 spots below, and 34th of 79 right fielders. The TDK LABS card had him as a matchup play against right-handed pitching in early May; by late Sep it had him ruled out for the year with the plantar fasciitis.
