2026 review

Kody Funderburk was a steady matchup left-hander who kept the ball on the ground more than most, his 25.0 Hard% over 144 BBE the 21st lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. He posted 3 W, 2 L, 1 SV and 14 HLD with a 3.71 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 51.0 IP across 58 games for MIN, with a 22.1 K% and a 12.2 BB% over 222 BF. He was placed on the paternity list Apr 21 and activated Apr 24, then shuttled between MIN and the minors on May 10, May 29, Jun 2 and Jun 24. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1045, he finished 621st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 257th of 575 RPs. He posted a 0.77 ERA in 11.2 IP in Jul and a 4.91 ERA in 11.0 IP in Aug. By early May the TDK LABS card had him tagged as a matchup lefty with no clear path to saves; by late Sep it had him as a specialty left-hander mixed into an unsettled closer committee.
