2026 review
Kyle Isbel was a speed-driven outfielder who rarely walked and rarely squared the ball up: his 4.6 BB% over 323 PA was the 16th lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, and his 2.6 Barrel% over 231 BBE was the 21st lowest of that same group. He hit .224/.268/.323 over 323 PA in 100 games for KCR, with 6 HR, 32 R, 24 RBI and 6 SB. Left plantar fasciitis put him on the 10-day IL Jun 10, he took a rehab assignment Jul 21, and he was activated Aug 2 after missing 53 regular-season days; he hit .244 over 164 AB before the stint and .200 over 130 AB after. His best month was Apr at .274 in 62 AB and his worst was Sep at .180 in 61 AB. The TDK LABS card described him in early May as riding a stretch it read as quietly meaningful, but by late Jul it had him working through rehab on the IL, and by late Sep it read him as a righty-heavy center fielder playing nearly every day from the bottom of the order with the bat gone quiet and little power against the league. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1271, he finished 880th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 39th of 70 center fielders.
