Kyle Schwarber walked at an elite rate and barreled the ball as well as almost anyone, but he struck out in bunches too. He hit .232 over 581 AB with a .354 OBP, a .503 SLG, a 31.4 K% and a 15.0 BB% over 701 PA, adding 45 HR, 95 R, 97 RBI and 105 BB against 220 SO across 156 games for PHI. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 24, he finished 27th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 3 spots below, and 3rd of 46 designated hitters. His 15.0 BB% over 701 PA was the 10th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, and his 15.5 Barrel% over 368 BBE was also the 10th highest of 267, while his 31.4 K% was the 15th highest of that same 267-hitter pool. He hit .305 over 95 AB in Jun and cooled to .172 over 87 AB in Sep. The TDK LABS card caught him at his best early with a 5-for-6, homer-in-each-game doubleheader by May 8, tracked a mid-Jul back scratch and an Aug hitting streak with a power surge by Aug 18, then by late Sep was noting a barrelless week and a flat OPS even as it kept describing his underlying power as elite.
