Kyle TeelCHW · C
2026 review
Kyle Teel was a punchless-but-patient young catcher whose season was mostly injury-shortened: he hit .210 and slugged .361 in 119 AB, with a .336 OBP over 144 PA. He posted a 35.4 K% and a 13.2 BB% over 144 PA, with 5 HR, 21 R and 26 RBI in 39 games and 32 starts. A right hamstrain strain put him on the 10-day IL Mar 25, and after rehab assignments May 12 and Jun 16 he was activated from the 60-day IL Jun 22, part of a stint that cost him 89 days; a left ankle sprain sent him back down Jul 21, and after another rehab assignment Aug 25 he was activated Sep 4, that stint costing him 45 more days, 134 regular-season days in 2 stints overall. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 200, he finished 1052nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 852 spots below, and 43rd of 103 catchers. The TDK LABS card had him entering the bulk of the catching share off the 60-day IL in late Jun with the bat cold at the jump, and by late Sep it had him showing power potential with multiple homers behind a strikeout-heavy profile while still holding a consistent role.
