Lake BacharMIA · PIT · RP
2026 review
Lake Bachar spent the year bouncing between the rotation and the pen, and the results swung just as hard: a 3.43 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 86.2 IP across 53 games and 12 GS for MIA and PIT, with a 26.0 K% and a 10.1 BB% over 358 BF, 2 W, 4 L, 2 SV and 2 HLD. He was traded from MIA to PIT on Aug 3, and his workload climbed right after, from 10.2 IP in Jul to 19.2 IP in Aug. Taken in just 2 of 674 drafts, he finished 360th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 141st of 811 pitchers, and 85th of 575 relievers. His best month was Sep at a 1.59 ERA in 11.1 IP against a worst of 8.44 ERA in 10.2 IP in Jul. The TDK LABS card tracked the swing: silent on him in early May, calling him pen depth after the Pittsburgh trade in early Aug, then by early Sep describing him as an opener drawing his first career start for Pittsburgh in a limited-inning role, and by late Sep working as an opener in a bullpen-game format leaning on strikeout stuff.
