Lawrence Butler was a streaky right fielder whose season swung hot and cold: .237/.326/.394 with a 25.6 K% and an 11.3 BB% over 539 PA for ATH, with 17 HR, 10 SB and 138 SO across 154 games. He started 50 of 78 games in Mar-Jun and 70 of 76 in Jul-Sep, and his month-to-month split showed the swing, .297 over 101 AB in Aug against .193 over 83 AB in Apr. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 153, he finished 173rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 20 spots below, and 16th of 79 right fielders. The TDK LABS card tracked a player growing into form: in early May it noted a long homer off Wacha, by early Aug it had his contact and discipline improving after the break, and by early Sep it had a hitting tear running through a red-hot September with his expected numbers still running above his output, with late Sep describing him moved up in the batting order and stringing together multi-hit games.
