2026 review

Lazaro Montes has settled into a right-handed platoon role in right field for SEA, hitting for power but rarely finding the ball. He hit .212/.305/.481 with a 40.7 K% and an 11.9 BB% over 59 PA, adding 4 HR, 2 2B, 11 RBI and 7 R across 21 games and 13 starts. SEA selected his contract Sep 1; his first game came that day and his last was Sep 26. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 848, taken in 21 of 674 drafts as a rare pick rather than a regular draftee, he finished 1213th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 450th of 660 hitters, and 58th of 79 right fielders. The TDK LABS card opened on a debut home run and standout contact rates, by Sep 10 it described him getting a strong platoon slot against right-handers with early power, and by Sep 27 it had his contact gone cold against a run of left-handed arms.
