2026 review
Leo Bernal was a rookie catcher who showed pop in a short big-league look: he hit .284/.333/.474 with a 24.5 K% and a 6.9 BB% over 102 PA for STL, adding 5 HR and 21 RBI in 24 games. He was optioned Mar 7 and did not resurface until he was recalled Sep 1, playing out the season as a 24-game, 102 PA stretch in Sep. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 766, taken in 10 of 674 drafts as a rare pick rather than a regular draftee, he finished 1066th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 368th of 660 hitters, and 44th of 103 catchers. The TDK LABS card tracked the swing in the read on him: by Sep 2 it had him catching everyday after a cold start with his results still behind his expected performance in that early look, by Sep 8 it was already flagging instant power, and by Sep 22 it described him as putting together a strong first month with an early power signal.
