2026 review
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was a left fielder whose season was defined by injury more than production: he hit .210/.254/.290 with 2 HR, 22 RBI, an 18.9 K% and 5.0 BB% over 201 PA for ARI. He opened the year on the 10-day IL recovering from right ACL surgery, retroactive to Mar 22, took a rehab assignment Apr 15 and was activated Apr 18; a left hamstring strain sent him back down May 23 until a Jun 8 rehab assignment and Jun 15 activation; a right adductor strain put him on the IL again Jul 18, with a rehab assignment Aug 18 and activation Sep 1, before he was designated for assignment Sep 13 and released Sep 18 — 92 regular-season days missed across 3 stints. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 826, he finished 1178th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 352 spots below, and 59th of 93 left fielders. His .243 wOBA ran 30 points below his .273 xwOBA over 201 PA. The TDK LABS card stayed negative on him late: by mid-Aug it had him out with the adductor strain and carrying weak offensive metrics and a limited power profile, and by mid-Sep, back from the IL, it still had his contact weak.
