2026 review
Lucas Erceg was a closer whose command never held up: he posted a 5.59 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in 48.1 IP over 52 games for KCR, with a 14.9 K% and a 14.0 BB% over 228 BF, converting 13 SV against 6 BS with 5 HLD. He was optioned Aug 18 and recalled Sep 14, working from 2.0 IP in Mar up through 11.1 IP in Jun before tailing off to 3.1 IP in Aug and 5.0 IP in Sep. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 451, he finished 1038th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 587 spots below, and 518th of 575 relievers. His 5.59 ERA ran 0.93 above his 4.66 xERA over 228 BF. His skill read carried limiters: a 22.3 CSW% over 901 pitches was the 11th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, and his 14.0 BB% and 14.9 K% over 228 BF were the 30th highest and 32nd lowest of that pool. The TDK LABS card followed the fall: in early May it had him tied for the league lead in saves with a locked-in role despite a flagged strikeout-walk alarm, by late Jun it had him moved out of the ninth inning, and by mid and late Sep it read him as struggling middle relief with weak strikeouts and poor command.
