2026 review

Lucas Giolito was a wild, hittable arm for SDP in a short season: he posted a 5.16 ERA and 1.85 WHIP in 29.2 IP across 7 games and 5 starts, walking 23 and striking out only 18 over 138 BF. His 16.7 BB% and 13.0 K% over 138 BF were both limiters, the BB% the 7th highest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF and the K% the 11th lowest of the same pool. He signed as a free agent Apr 22, was optioned the same day, recalled May 17, and was transferred to the 60-day IL Aug 24. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 435, he finished 1056th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 621 spots below his ADP rank, and 170th of 236 starting pitchers. His 5.16 ERA ran 0.46 below his 5.62 xERA over 138 BF. The TDK LABS card had him rotation-active but grading neutral in mid May, then by late Jul it had him working back toward facing hitters after time away, and by early Sep and still by late Sep it had him remaining sidelined.
