2026 review

Lucas Spence was a power-over-contact flier in a short look for HOU, hitting .218/.317/.509 with a 34.9 K% and an 11.1 BB% over 63 PA, with 4 HR and 12 RBI across 19 games. He had his contract selected Jul 17, was optioned Aug 3, and was recalled Sep 23, playing 12 games for 41 PA in Jul, 2 games for 0 PA in Aug, and 5 games for 22 PA in Sep. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1190th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 49th of 70 center fielders. The TDK LABS card tracked the swing in his role: in mid-Jul it had him as a fresh call-up with sparse reps, filling in while a teammate was out, by Aug 3 it had him benched as another player took over center field with the window narrowing, and by Sep 27 it had him heating up with a power surge to open his latest stint back in the majors.
