Luis CurveloTEX · RP

2026 review

Luis Curvelo was a fringe relief arm who couldn't find his footing in the Texas pen: 9 games and a 9.58 ERA and 2.32 WHIP in 10.1 IP, a 10.9 K% and a 12.7 BB% over 55 BF, with 1 HLD. He was optioned Mar 23, recalled Apr 5, then placed on the 15-day IL Apr 15 with a right biceps strain, missing 35 regular-season days before he took a rehab assignment May 15 and was activated May 20. He was optioned that same day, then shuttled between the majors and the minors on Jun 1, Jun 9, Jun 11, Jun 13, Jul 31 and Aug 1, before he was designated for assignment Aug 14 and outrighted Aug 17. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1037th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 517th of 575 relief pitchers. The TDK LABS card had him by early Jun stuck at the bottom of the bullpen pecking order with no path to saves or holds, by mid-Jun noting the back-and-forth between the majors and the minors had become routine, and by mid-Aug tying the outright to a rough stretch.
