2026 review

Maikel García was a steady enough bat whose season got repeatedly cut short by injury: he hit .268/.334/.381 with a 14.5 K% and a 9.3 BB% over 344 PA for KCR, adding 20 2B, 3 HR and 5 SB across 82 games. A left hand muscle strain put him on the 10-day IL on Jun 23, and after rehab assignments on Jul 28 and Aug 12 he was activated Aug 17, but a left hamstring strain sent him back down Aug 21, with a Sep 10 rehab assignment preceding his Sep 15 activation, 80 regular-season days missed across the 2 stints. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 75, he finished 452nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 377 spots below, and 28th of 67 third basemen. The TDK LABS card tracked the injuries step by step: in early May it had him back from cramps and stacking extra-base hits including a homer, by late Jun it had him on the 10-day IL, and by early Jul it was watching the hand injury's return window for a mid-month break. By late Sep the read had settled into a solid third baseman whose expected and actual numbers lined up, locked into the middle of the order.
