Manny Machado was a durable everyday third baseman whose power stayed but whose bat cooled off: he hit .217/.303/.407 with a 21.3 K% and an 11.2 BB% over 677 PA for SDP, adding 22 2B, 30 HR, 82 R and 91 RBI across 158 games and 158 starts. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 42, he finished 86th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 44 spots below, and 9th of 67 third basemen. His .310 wOBA ran 18 points below his .328 xwOBA over 677 PA, and his best month was Jul at .292 over 96 AB against just .127 over 102 AB in May. The TDK LABS card tracked the swings: a pair of homers in a hitter-friendly park in early May came with a brief precautionary exit, a multi-hit streak by late Jun, then a hard slump through August that the card described as one of the game's best third basemen losing his footing over a stretch by late Sep.
