2026 review

Masataka Yoshida was a contact-oriented DH who hit .274/.347/.399 with an 11.1 K% and a 9.4 BB% over 297 PA for BOS, adding 16 2B, 5 HR, and 28 RBI across 87 games and 67 starts before a left hamstring strain ended his year. He went on the 10-day IL Aug 16 with no activation on record through Sep 27, missing 42 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1205, he finished 637th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 568 spots above, and 274th of 660 hitters and 19th of 46 DH. His .330 wOBA ran 12 points above his .318 xwOBA over 297 PA. The TDK LABS card had doubted his role in early May, describing a crowded Boston outfield picture that left him mostly limited to DH duty with little room for at-bats, then by late Aug it was watching the hamstring situation for clarity, still on the 10-day IL through mid-Sep.
