2026 review
Matt Strahm allowed too much hard contact and it caught up with him: his 40.0 Hard% over 115 BBE was the 38th highest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. He posted a 7.32 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 35.2 IP over 41 games for KCR, with an 18.6 K% and an 8.7 BB% over 161 BF, 3 W, 4 L, 13 HLD and 4 BS. A right knee inflammation sent him to the 15-day IL on May 16, and he was activated May 31 after missing 15 regular-season days; he was designated for assignment Aug 4 and released Aug 8. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1148, he finished 1071st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 77 spots above, and 531st of 575 RP. His 7.32 ERA ran 3.08 above his 4.24 xERA over 161 BF, and he was sharper before the IL stint, a 3.86 ERA in 16.1 IP, than after it, a 10.24 ERA in 19.1 IP. In early May the TDK LABS card had him as a specialist with rate-stat value but no path to saves; by late Jul it had him as a setup arm whose blown save and unsettled hierarchy capped his ceiling. Early Aug it noted he was designated for assignment after a difficult season.
