2026 review

Max Clark was a rookie center fielder who made instant contact once he arrived: after his contract was selected Jul 31, he hit .272/.350/.417 over 206 PA for DET, with 3 HR, 5 SB in 51 games. His 20.4 K% and 8.7 BB% came over that same 206 PA. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1167, he finished 829th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 338 spots above, and 304th of 660 hitters, 35th of 70 center fielders. His .337 wOBA ran 23 points above his .314 xwOBA over 206 PA, and his best month was Sep at .317 over 82 AB against .213 over 94 AB in Aug. The TDK LABS card followed the swings: in early Aug it pointed to strong contact quality and hard-hit authority in his debut, by late Aug it described a rough stretch where he wasn't squaring the ball up much, and by late Sep it had him hitting leadoff, getting on base and running while his power built up gradually.
