He signed as a free agent May 5, was transferred to the 60-day IL May 25, took rehab assignments across Jun 21, Jun 27, Jul 3, Jul 4 and Jul 14, and was activated Jul 15; he was designated for assignment Sep 4 and outrighted Sep 6. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1177th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 554th of 575 relief pitchers. The TDK LABS card tracked his return to the mound in real time: by late Jul it had him as recently activated, by Aug 1 still working in low-leverage outings, by Aug 10 still searching for stability with a bloated ERA and diminished stuff, and by Sep 6, after a rough recent stretch, it had him with no path back to a role.
