2026 review
Michael King was a durable, efficient starter who missed more bats than he allowed hard contact: across 32 games and 32 GS for SDP, he posted a 3.21 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 185.0 IP, with a 21.0 K% and a 9.2 BB% over 757 BF, going 12 W and 10 L. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 134, he finished 220th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 86 spots below, and 28th of 236 starters. His 3.21 ERA ran 1.21 below his 4.42 xERA over 757 BF, and his sinker crept up from 92.8 mph in Mar-Jun to 93.7 mph in Jul-Sep. The TDK LABS card followed the gap between his results and his underlying numbers: by early May it had him as good but shaky after a strong start against Arizona, by late Jun it was noting his ERA sitting apart from his FIP, by early Jul it had his command slipping with walks climbing while his ERA still held, and by late Sep it flagged a quality-start streak alongside a gap between his contact profile and his xERA.
