Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 436, he finished 816th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 380 spots below, and 31st of 103 catchers. His .324 wOBA ran 29 points above his .295 xwOBA over 254 PA. The TDK LABS card tracked a shrinking role all year: in early May it praised the job he was doing while another catcher was being pushed up the depth chart, by early Aug it had him in a rotating timeshare, by mid Sep it had him losing ground in that timeshare, and by late Sep it described him as a part-time catcher sharing the job with little room in the lineup.
