2026 review
Mike Burrows took the ball every fifth day until an elbow problem ended his season, and the results were rough throughout: he went 4-9 with a 5.99 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 94.2 IP over 18 games and 17 starts for HOU, a 17.7 K% and an 8.3 BB% over 423 BF. His right elbow neuritis put him on the 15-day IL on Jul 7, and after rehab assignments on Aug 14 and Sep 19 he had not been activated through Sep 27, missing 82 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 287, he finished 1457th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 1170 spots below his ADP rank, 796th of 811 pitchers and 224th of 236 starting pitchers. His 5.99 ERA ran 1.17 above his 4.82 xERA over 423 BF. Left-handed hitters did more damage against him at .319/.395/.574 over 243 PA than right-handers at .256/.306/.423 over 180 PA. The TDK LABS card flagged him in early May for allowing a string of home runs across a handful of starts despite a scoreless stretch against Boston, had him skipped from the rotation by late Jun after rough outings, and by late Sep had him on the 60-day IL following a setback during a rehab assignment.
